Our First Brew Day!

June 2019
Thanks to all of our loyal friends and guests, we made it through our first Winter. Opening the first week of November, can be a little scary, to say the least, but with the overwhelming support of all of you, it is Spring, and we are still here.
During the last six months, we have worked to make a visit to HWY 50 Brewery an increasing more enjoyable experience for all of our treasured guests. As many of you know, we have expanded our kitchen menu, added live music nearly every Saturday and Sunday, and as requested, increased our beer selections.
Speaking of beer selections, we added a traditional Irish Dry Stout and an English Strong Bitter (Amber), to our permanent line-up. Both of these beers have been very well received, and enjoyed by our regular guests and new friends, alike. Speaking of new beers, we are currently working on a Simcoe IPA, collaborating with our friends at Outbreak Brewing Company. Tim and I are excited to share this beer, brewed at Outbreak and again at HWY 50 Brewery. Tyler and I were at Outbreak on May 6 and Tim joined us at HWY 50 Brewery, the following week.
Also, new on tap, is a West Coast Double IPA. This beer saw a whopping 30+ pounds of hops, including Cascade, Centennial, Amarillo, Simcoe, and Chinook, varieties. This one weighs in at about 9% ABV.
To help accommodate this larger selection of beers, we added two more serving tanks in late February. We also have plans for two more fermenters, in the next couple months. We want to make sure, your favorite, regular beer, is always available and on tap.
The kitchen is also working hard to provide you the consistent high quality eats, you have come to expect. Just in time for the warm weather, Diane has added an Italian Salad, starting with a bed of mixed greens, topped with peperoni, tomatoes, pepperoncini’s, red onions, olives, shredded mozzarella, and a house-made balsamic dressing. Sound good, it is!
The amazing Camino weather we have had the last couple weeks, prompted the opening of the roll-up doors and lots of activity on our patio. Our friends and guests are taking advantage of this beautiful weather to enjoy our patio, weekend music, and some of the most beautiful sunsets in our county.
Again, Diane and I would like to thank all of you for your unbelievable level of support during our first six months. We hope to continue looking for ways to provide each of you with a more enjoyable experience, with each visit.
Cheers,
Gary Ritz
